Eighteen percent of the employees stated that they should fulfill any promises given for a leader to build a trusting relationship. According to the survey, this aspect carried more weight in building trust. Some of the employees indicated that their company did not make a point of fulfilling any commitments.

The managers also admitted to not following through with intentions made to the employees. It, hence, is significant for a leader to make commitments they are sure they can fulfill. However, if something comes up and is not possible, early communication with the employees is crucial.
